A bit of No-Deal Brexit fun

I wanted to try a few different things with this - more texturing practice, an open book with reasonable looking pages, something that looks like powder and just an excuse to try and make fun of a no-deal Brexit for the UK early next year. I don’t know why I think this is amusing. It’s grim.

I also discovered my GPU isn’t happy with the amount of textures I used for this, but that prompted me to use my CPU and find it was actually faster.

There are a couple of wee issues I only noticed after rendering a couple of the images. The exposed sides of the closed book are rubbish. I used an array with solidify for those and didn’t set up an appropriate secondary material for those. The height map on the potatoes is a bit stepped. Forgot to bump up the bit depth in Substance Painter. The turnip/swede is a bit ropey. It’s the best I could do without having a real one to hand to reference.

The lighting is simple but exquisite!

Clearly created by a remainer.

wow, that foodstamp book looks awesome! the jagged edges look impressive, though one line seems to be torn out too smooth.
The textures and lighting is great and the ingredients of that can is ace!

Clearly created by a Scottish person would be more accurate :stuck_out_tongue:
