got this result recently after playing around with subsurf scattering.
i like the overall look of it, also the SSS does its job, but i have some conceptual critique for you.
Doesnt an arrow usually mean that you fell in love, but a broken heart mean the opposite?
I think these two ideas work against each other in this piece (which also could be intended, but then i wouldnt put it right in the middle 
)
