Hello all. I started to wonder, where might I find the actual model or file of Ed Catmull’s hand scan for A Computer Animated Hand. It’s for a digital arts project.
Seems pretty easy to make, you can see the verts fairly easily.
Yeah, I know. It’s not about recreating it, it’s about having a one-off of the original. I would think that it would be in some model repository, but it’s not, as far as I can tell, not even in Utah’s.
I doubt very much if it would be held as a “model file” anywhere as it’s more likely that it was a one off and hard coded into the software displaying it, or if they went as far as having some kind of loader/model file system it would have been in a format specific to the software used, which was in its self specifically written for/by them to test their ideas.
