a Dragon

I got fed up my last project and started a new one, a DRAGON! now I’m in dead end, what next? how to make this better/more realistic?

I think it’d do you go to rework your topology. You have way to many “5 pole vertices” (called an e-pole I believe), there will always be some (depending on how you work it out) but you have 6 (that i can see) on one side of the face alone. I aslo think I see 2 vertice’s with 7-8 edges coming off of them (i don’t even know what to call those). Search for a good head topology tutorial, it doesn’t have to be specific to blender either. The principles are the same no matter what software you use. But most are for humans but the idea is the same. Fix those issues and you won’t have too hard of a time making it more realistic. But adding onto that head mesh, as it is, to make it more realistic would be extremely difficult and far to time consuming for my tastes.

If you want to animate or pose the fellow I agree with HouseArrest. If this is just a still pose I wouldn’t bother too much with this model and try to get better topology on the next model.
One thing that you definetly have to do is get rid of the procedural and UV Texture the guy. You’ll never get believable results with procedurals alone.

must be a deranged dragon too
