A DTIYS character

Concept by @talysketch on IG

It took quite a time to finish it than planned but learned a lot of stuff. The new Hair curves based on geometry nodes are fun to work with. I could add as much hair as I wanted and it’s way faster than the particle system.

I just opened an account on ArtStation. Check it out if you are interested: www.artstation.com/aravinthkumaran9

Things I learned.

  1. Never be afraid to make changes to the sculpts even though it looks complete trust your instincts.
  2. A nice procedural workflow for skin shading. It’s not perfect, but I’ll get there.
  3. Grooming hair curves efficiently without wasting time.
  4. Sculpting and retopologizing is the solution for complex modeling. In my case, it was the shoe. Maybe some of you are good at complex poly modeling but not me XD.
  5. Some camera animation-ish techniques https://www.instagram.com/tv/CjLN-ZkAB4b/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Mistakes I made.

  1. UV unwrapping the face and ignoring the rest of the body. Later it resulted in some problems.
