I have a dumb question, is there a way to set up the save/save as model in the position/view you wanted it too, as I am so tired of re-setting the view port to avoid clipping issues, etc…
Most other 3D apps allow you to save your project in the same position/view as you left it in previous settings, and when you re-open your model it’s right there.

Had you tried to setup what you want and then File → Defaults → Save Startup File to make this the default?
Additionally to the mentioned AppTemplates (or before they were introduces) someone also can simple use any directory to save some blend files with special settings and use them to start from and simply as first step save as the new named project…
