A gold ring in the daylight. Pearl, topaz and diamonds Luxcore 2.6 Blender 3.6

I tried to make it look good.

Ring created and modeled in Blender 3.6 from scratch during a live stream of 5 and a half hours
Rendered with Luxcore 2.6

4K, 2384 samples, 100 light path samples, 1.7% color aberration instead of depth of field
19 min 14 sec 98 ms

You can see the modeling stream there https://youtube.com/live/JRZ3Rd0eEds?feature=share
I will keep making Luxcore tutorials, just don’t ask when.

Really nice result.
I haven’t see your modelling stream but I know your jobs as, in the past, I saw your renderings in the Luxcore forum and you’re really a master in this subjects.

I’ve a question about Luxcore and Blender.
I’m trying to make Luxcore working with my 3.6.4 official but I’ve always problems like viewport rendering crashes everytime and CPU final rendering doesn’t render the objects (just cameras, lights and background).
I think that if you’re using it, you shouldn’t have these problems, so, if I’m right I’m asking you: hich version of Luxcore do you use? And which 3.6 Blender version?
Thanks in advance

Hi! Thanks a lot @marcatore

I use Blender 3.6.1 and Luxcore 2.6
You can check the Luxcore official download page https://luxcorerender.org/download/ there it says that the older builds won’t work with 3.0+, then there’s the link to the new builds right there https://forums.luxcorerender.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=736 and you have the builds depending your OS. These builds work great with 3.0+ versions of Blender

But about the rest, Luxgore crashing yes it happens, but if you have a wrong build generally Luxcore addon can’t run and you get an error message before even running Luxcore. About objects not rendering, I have never seen that. If your object has a Cycles material it can even render and if it can’t it will have a standard grey material… but not showing??? You might send screenshots, are you using the correct hardware version? OpenCL, CUDA NVIDIA? Using AMD is not the same… Crash when rendering on CPU, ok generally you’ll want to use CPU+GPU rendering, some settings only work on CPU indeed, and also yes a bad setting can make a crash… send some screens… check your install first

I think that the main problem is that I’m with the 3.6.4 and it’s not supported…I think that I should try the same version you’re using and I think all will be fine.
Thanks for your sharing

(Note: the Luxcore builds in the second link work great with Blender 3.0+ … 3.6.4 is much as 3.6.1, the one I use)

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Beautiful render! Im curious how you would suggest achieving this quality in an animation?

I am currently on Cycles, I’ve got a base animation set and moving onto materials. I am testing with stills first to make sure the dispersion is coming out ok, but the diamonds appear rather milky and unclear.

Any suggestions or resources you would know of that could help?

Hi, thanks a bunch.

My channel has dozens of videos about 3D jewelry in Blender. You can check one method for diamond and fake dispersion in Cycles https://youtu.be/32FLiSGiw5c?si=O0M0gS0myF4pP28S&t=1107s
