I have to disagree. It’s lost the atmosphere. It looks a little too “CGI” now.
Do mean that you don’t like the new BI blender relative to the older posts, or you think the Yafray render looks too CGI?

I like the new BI render much better although I think the inside of the role looks a tad too bright. Maybe at a negative point or tone down the lighting slightly.
I think the yafray render looks so harsh cause it doesn’t have the DOF the BI has.
A blur is similar to a lowpass filter as it removes details from the final image.
The last time I tried yafray (and it’s been a while) I found out that yafray is very particular about the images you use. Check around and see if you can find out what file types it supports, I don’t recall off hand.
I prefer the internal renders output. Looks much nicer with the DOF.
Javadog_2008 - yeah, I’ve heard that it will only accept .jpg files. I thought I used a .jpg, but I haven’t gone back to verify.
I agree simpo, I thought the yafray render was too harsh. I’m sure I could fix that will a little tweaking, but that’s for another project…
