A photoscanned 3D Pineapple Model

Hey,

So I got a pineapple, took between 4-500 photos of it, generated the 3D model, then made all the required maps, added SSS and then rendered it in Cycles.

I think its my favourite photo scan so far. And maybe the most realistic Pineapple 3D model for Blender I’ve seen anyway haha!

The final model is 200k faces down from its original 45million generated by Reality Capture. Took about 5-6h in total from scanning to Blender render

Will be going onto https://www.imeshh.com at the end of the month

Tell me two things - what computer do you have and how long did it take RC to process the whole thing. Good job!
I tried Meshroom, but it is very slow when compared to RC.

RC is incredibly fast. On An RTX 3070 it probably took 20-30mins to process

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Hi Everyone,

Here is the “Behind the Scenes” article of 3d photo-scanned food by the same artist!

Do check this article written by the artist himself. It describes the process of making the artwork step by step and the insight on making realistic 3d photo-scanned food in Blender.

Thanks,
