A rendering problem - wierd reflections

I don’t know how to word it and therefore wasn’t able find anything with search engines, but when I render my animations as images or movie file I get a strange random flashing on the surface of objects or what not, as if my scene was lit by a fluorescent lighting. But not all the objects do that. I have tried different settings but can’t figure it out. Is it a graphics card problem? Any suggestions?

you probably have set smooth selected for those objects

hit “set solid”

if you have a large flat polygon with a sharp angle - smoothing won’t work

Thanks, that worked. I also tried to subdivide the object several times and that worked too.

you can add a subsurf modifier
and then an edge spilt modifier
that way you can change the value of the angle that is sharp
