A simple logo, but I'm having trouble

I was trying to render and UV mab a logo of somply two letters…(JB) in dragon font. I was able to load the font, size, it, extrude, bevel, etc. But the application(second life) requires rectangle filly occupied UV maps. So why not add a layer, make it thin -and position it’s depth to bisect the logo? semed fine, but somehow I could resize the plane I applied a tranparent.gif to. (thinking this would satisfy the “full rectangle” requirements. can anyone guide me in the right direction?
