Abandoned Mall Scene

Though I would’ve kept tweaking this for days I decided to cut myself off and learn to be more efficient in the future. Here’s a recent project of mine that I’m pretty happy with.

Here’s the viewport render

EDIT: I forgot to give credit to the piece that I drew a lot of inspiration from. https://www.deviantart.com/sandara/art/Abandoned-Station-Photobash-484248869

I actually snuck into a real “abandoned mall” once. And, while it was not “overgrown with vegetation” like your very-nice render is, the experience still was rather creepy. When a mall dies, it dies hard. (The one that I trespassed into was eventually bulldozed flat.)

Nice render all around. Vegetation looks good, lots of attention to detail.

Thank you, Bart!

Your render reminds me of this current project by Olafur Eliasson at the Fondation Beyeler museum (Riehen/Switzerland): https://www.museenbasel.ch/museen/de/agenda/detail/fondation-beyeler/olafur-eliasson-life.html

I like the look of the water in your picture!

Very nice. I particularly like the aquatic life that has moved in.

Really reminds me of Portal Stories: Mel–some of the later levels are very close to this aesthetic! The fallen-in stuff upstairs in particular.

Though, looking at the ceiling chains…those are a nice touch, and I’ve never seen something like that in a Portal 2 map/mod

This looks like an area in Stray.
