Actions for light power?

Is it not possible to make actions for light power? I was going to make a collection of lightning flashes to scatter along the timeline, but it seems that’s not possible. I guess I could always use another object as a driver, but I was just wondering if I was missing a trick somewhere, or what the rationale behind not having the ‘Make an action when a keyframe is added’ on the lamp power is. I assume it’s a similar situation with properties of materials, too…

Action Editor is limited to object properties. It does not handle Object Data properties.
That is the reason why there is a dedicated Shapekey Editor and a Grease Pencil mode.

You would encounter same limit if you animate a material.

The fact, that Action Editor is not able to handle those actions, does not mean that they don’t exist.
At the moment a key is created : an action is created, too.
But here, those actions are only visible in NLA Editor and editable in dopesheet mode.
