Adding Edges?

Hello!

So I already know that when I create a cube, after the initial action, there is no way to alter the amount of vertices similar to how there is in Maya. I do know that there is a way to do it instantly though, supposedly with a slider in the “tool” bar. When I add a cube however, there is no option for changing this. I even tried pressing F6 to see if the option would be there, but that just gave me location and rotation options. I want my cube to be more like a cylinder almost. Maybe 8-sided, like an octagon. How can I change the number of vertices/edges to get a “stop sign” (but with depth) sort of look? Thanks in advance!

Add / Cylinder
Add / Circle

Unfortunately, cylinders/circles have too many faces for me. I’m looking for a way to adjust the number of “faces” or “edges.” Blender’s cylinder has 32 faces, not 8 like an octagon.

Did you read your original post ?

Ohh, I see, I have to use F6 with the cylinder instead of the cube…thank you!

If you want to use a cube just bevel the edges (Ctrl+B)
