Adding ridges to a building

As practice with blender, I am trying to model the Embarcadero Substation, and I have the basic details all completed, but I am not sure the best way to go about adding the ridges that cover pretty much the entire building.

The options I’ve come up with are to either model a single ridge, and use arrays and mirrors to cover it, or to try and use a displace modifier with a texture to try and get the same effect. I’m not sure if one way is better than the other, or if there are better ways I don’t know about. Any pointers or help would be greatly appreciated.

Add loops cuts using “ctrl” + “r” > extrude using “e” > left click > scale up on the axis you need to make the ridges. That is how I would do it unless you were only modeling the front in which case I would only extrude and I would grab the tops of the door coverings (can’t think of what they are called) and I would move them up on the z axis.
