IF YOU ARE USING THE SPEEDHACK ( CACHED L+R FRAMES ),
THEN PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
If you make ANY changes to your SCENE ( Adding/Deleting/Moving ANY Objects )
or change any of these 3D CAMERA OPTIONS: The Camera Type, Separation, or Zero Parallax
Then you NEED to Click the “CLEAR L-R CACHED FRAMES” button (recommended)
or uncheck the [ ] Speed Hack? box ( doesnt clear cache, but disables its use when box is unchecked )
Failure to do so will cause rendering to use “old” cached frames.
*** Changing Render Profiles, toggling camera guides, Anaglyph Swap Eye Colors do not affect your scene,
so you can change these options, and still use the “speedhack” cached L+R frames.
v2.05a Addon Screenshot ( added a checkbox for STEREO 3D with Camera Perspective )
*** Please note that the CAMERA PERSPECTIVE view does not accurately show what the actual render will look like ( recommend rendering preview images BEFORE rendering animations )
Tested with CYCLES render engine … Appears to work same as Blender 2.78c
Addon does not work with Blender 2.80 development build, due to major changes in API
will look into updating this addon for Blender 2.80 when a more stable release canidate becomes availible
It had just occurred to me that, being a blender noob, I usually just use default camera settings,
and never really change the lens type, focus, clipping distances, DOF, camera sensor …
I realized after playing around that if I change the main camera’s settings mentioned above, that the “L” & “R”
cameras used for rendering never update to match the main camera ( aka “CENTER” camera )…
So I added more code to “sync” the camera settings…
Now if you change these camera properties for the main (“CENTER”) camera — (ie… the PARENT camera),
and then “APPLY SETTINGS” button in the addon’s panel, the “L” & “R” cameras will take on the main camera’s settings now!
SO if you are an ADVANCED camera blender user, now this addon can recognize that!
Also, added a checkbox to show/hide camera limits in addon as a quick and easy shortcut for this
If you experience any SCRIPT errors AFTER upgrading to the latest addon version,
it is because in your project (.blend file), the camera(s) you created with the older addon
does not have some of the new “custom properties” introduced in to the newer version…
Simply DELETE the entire CAMERA HIERCHARY in the OUTLINER, and create a FRESH NEW CAMERA with the ADD OBJECTS tools panel… Then use the addon to update it back to “3D STEREO”
I will look into code to see if this can be “auto-fixed” in the future…
On the BRIGHT SIDE, this addon just keeps getting better and better!
