Just posting a test render of my newly made AK-47 that i started yesterday. Pretty much done with it unless there’s any suggestions. Gonna use it for a full fledged military animation. Working on storyboarding it as we speak! check it out
@spacetug. i also have other weapons on another post. i’ll bring it to the top of the list by posting a blank response on my own thing. those arent as commonly made.
projection painting with multiple metal textures. probably about 8 UV textures combined into one layout. Projection painting is my favorite texturing method now. I don’t do much else cuz I love it. Course you still have to tweak it manually but you get the point.
Your magazine is wrong and you’ve modeled the safety/fire-selector as part of the box cover. The slide actually slides all the way back when unobstructed by the safety switch(there are two positions below that up/safe position, first comes single fire and then at the lowest setting full-auto). And both of the sights are somehow melded into other parts.
I see what you mean Wereaser. I’m not going for absolute detail, especially with the extremely tiny details in the animation. This model is going to be used for a full fledged military operation movie that I am making and storyboarding. There are going to be plenty of other weapons and soldiers and particles and helicopters, buildings, etc. that need to be animated and will be more noticeable. I mean I will definitely take detail in how each weapon fires, yes. I am working on making test animations for my AK-47, my Barrett .50 cal, my G36c, and my M4A1 Carbine. The Desert Eagle I have already done but could use Blender 2.5 to make it better. Like I was saying, I don’t think I’m going for absolute perfection of the anatomy so much as the firing sequence and the textures, because there will be plenty of other, larger things to keep in mind as I go.
