AK-47 Type 3

Hello, here is a weapon I started modeling about a week ago. This will be my first finished gun. I am modeling for a few months but do not have any finished models yet, I plan to see this one to completion.

It is a mid-1950s, pre-AKM Kalashnikov (so called Type 3. Reference image) Made in Blender of course :eyebrowlift2:

High-poly: 80% done (should be finished next week)

TO DO:

  • Retopologize
  • UV & Textures
  • Rig & Animate

Some of the smaller details on the mag and body I will probably make as floaters (or paint into the normal map rather than modeling them).

Any suggestions, comments, criticism appreciated.

Retopologize > Rig and animate, the final result are for a animation ?

Yes, I am hoping to use this gun as a game asset, either to mod it into an existing game or use it for my own game if I start making one.
So I need to have the parts rigged for reloading animations and use as an FPS weapon. But that comes after making the low-poly model, and texturing, etc.
