Alhambra: a dream

Hello! This project was created as a material showcase of my recent studies on tessellations and textures. I have used Blender for modeling, geometry nodes, and rendering the scene, while I’ve used the Substance suite (Designer, Painter, Sampler) for the generation of every single texture that appears in this project. I have created my own Substance tool, called Alhambra, which manipulates the texture position according to the 17 wallpaper groups, generating a literally infinite amount of possibilities. You can find a breakdown with animations and details in my ArtStation portfolio: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/o2m6Lw

The project was rendered using Cycles and Blender 3.2. A note of interest for the users of Blenderartists is that it was generated using AgX, a new OCIO configuration that is being developed and discussed in this forum

I hope you like it!

Gorgeous scene. I would consider trying a different disp map for the bricks though. One with more ridges and less bumpiness.

Thank you for your comment and feedback! I agree with you, the height map was a last minute change that perhaps I should have polished more. It is definitely the thing I am less happy with, overall!

Super work. One of the best places (in the world) that I had the fortune to visit…

Thanks a lot  And same for me, it is unforgettable. It was years ago, but it stayed in my mind!
