Hey guys, just did this little project to test some workflows. Gravity sketch for blockout, blender for the corridor modeling and alien refinement (the orco draw brush is amazing!!! Blender is becoming a sculpting powerhouse) and then octane for render and PS for paintover.
Standalone is great! Cycles is really slow when you are moving the camera or changing hdri etc, its completely blurry or black when refreshing and moving the scene. I think everything else is pretty much the same, but octane is practically realtime it is always working
This is absolutely incredible. The attention to detail on these sculpts and on the renders themselves is amazing and jaw-dropping to say the least. To see people pushing the envelope like this with Blender is really rewarding and gets me really excited for the future of Blender. I’ll be watching your posts from now on for sure! Keep it up! I definitely am feeling the need to try Octane now!
Amazing work! The only gripe I have is, I wish one of the aliens was climbing on the wall or the ceiling. It’s difficult to make out exactly what the alien on the left is doing. Is he jumping? Falling? Floating? Turning? Posing?
Aliens are gravity defying insectoid aliens, so it would make sense for them to be scurrying along the walls and ceilings.
Thanks so much everyone! really appreciate it Bart!
@Neltulz - He’s actually just jumped off of the wall and is lunging forward, I totally agree with you that I could have shown that better. Posing is still one of the most difficult things for me, I have to continue to explore techniques on how to achieve the movement I want. Thanks man
