Alpha + ray shadows in 2.5

I know there is a tutorial in the Docs for doing this in 2.42, but I can’t figure out how to set up my material/texture in 2.5 in order to have a texture w/ an alpha channel cause transparency, as well as raytraced shadows. Should be easy, but I can’t figure it out. I can’t even find the ‘Trashadow’ button!

Can anyone help?
