What settings are you using. Supply a demo blend for review
I think, it work only with modes ‘alpha sort’ or ‘alpha clip’.
Your screen shot seems from blender viewport, that not show alpha shadows, but Blender game mode shows it.
(My testing, with ‘alpha clips’ seems don’t workd with my friends ATI, but ‘alpha sort’ works with no problem)
@pohjan - I believe Clip Alpha is the mode under which it works, yes. I have an AMD graphics card that works with alpha clip shadows, so that’s not the issue.
@ygh - Check to ensure the leaf material has Clip Alpha enabled (not the default transparency) and the shadow buffer on the sun lamp is set to Simple (not Variance).

but thees are my settings.
SolarLune, se so the simple instead of variance did the trick, but now i have to live with this instead?
