Alpha textures in 2.5?

How do I make the black transparent? It’s a transparent PNG image mapped to a object, and in render it still shows up as black.


there is a tut on this at blenderguru on snow making and alpha map!

now i think you need to calculate it but not certain where it is in 2.5!

Are you using gimp or photoshop?

In the Material tab, tick “Transparency” and put Alpha from default 1 to 0

In the Texture tab, scroll down to “Influence” and tick “Alpha” :

And you should have the render displaying the transparency on your texture
