Alpha/Transparency In Blender 2.49?

Hi Guys, I have a problem with my model transparency, see this pic below

that white texture thing is supposed to be transparent
My texture already has an alpha channel and its alpha, but the problem is my plant model still has no transparancy
So do you guys know how to fix this?

  1. v 2.49? Why?
  2. Your image is not visible
  3. your download is a rar, don’t want to download it

In the material settings you have not set the alpha value to zero and you have not set the texture to influence the alpha as well as the colour

@Photox

  1. I still use V 2.49 because, it has nifskope import/export script
    and it has a usefull paintweight script and other usefull scripts that is only available
    and other reason is I’m not that farmiliar with other version
  2. Fixed it
  3. I used rar because the forum attachment can’t read/understand .tga or .tiff file
    I’m not a hacker or a bad person, why should I do harm to someone that will help me
    and it’s okay, if you don’t believe me

@Richard Marklew
Thanks for the help, man
“In the material settings you have not set the alpha value to zero”
You mean this one

“and you have not set the texture to influence the alpha as well as the colour”
What do you mean, can you give me more explanation about this one (a picture explanation, maybe?)

  1. I used rar because the forum attachment can’t read/understand .tga or .tiff file
    But you can attach .zip files or pack the textures into your .blend file.

(I can’t see, what is the image that you’re attaching, man. I guess this forum image attachment has some kind of problem, and it could only last for few hours, and after that the image will go broken, but you still can use imgur to upload your image, though)

I don’t know how to pack the texture into my blend file
So here is a zip file

and BTW man, I still don’t understand about this part, any help?

If you are going to use an old version of blender you need to at least know the basics of how textures are used in materials in that version.
See https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.4/Manual/Textures/Influence/Material

I’ve tried to set those two things but the problem still exist (some part of the model is still not transparent)

But i’ve managed to solved the problem somehow:

  1. Select your mesh and go to “Edit Mode”, and select the all mesh’s vertices
  2. Select the “Editing” panel and go to the “Texture Face” panel
  3. In the “Texture Face” panel select the “Alpha” first, after that click the “Copy” button
  4. Now your model should have its transparency, based on their Texture Alpha Channel

Thanks for your help, anyway
