One of the cool thing with the Amiga is that in probably most European country it was much more affordable compared to PC or Mac, even though since there wasnât internet, owning a computer was unusual⌠Thanks for reminding me that this wasnât the case everywhere, itâs easy to take stuff like that for granted !
Anyway, good job on the logo ! Iâm looking forward to see the finished model !!

Hello sozap, very interesting chat indeed, yeah, many hardware and electronic stuff used to came here very expensive inflated by tariffs so there was a big black market but computers like the amiga weren´t sold there but rather in the walmarts of the time, to put it in perspective, I had a sega genesis 2 years or so before owning an amiga, I bought the magadrive version new in the street for about 350 dollars with castle of illusion, after all I wanted to play games! as I have never been a nerd who spends hours modeling boxes or moving pixels around instead of playing the hottest games, am I ?
By 1990 or 91 I was in search of an amiga 500 so I checked second hand magazines but I always fell short and could not afford it in the end, I remember I finally had almost saved enough to buy an used amiga , by that time I did not know there were several amiga versions and some were becoming obsolete due to its kickstart version (1.2) and its fat agnus, I had already made a deal to buy a used amiga the next week, then something unthinkable happened, an stablished store was selling the bonus pack at 70% the price I was going to pay for a used one, not only that it was the phillipine version but included the fatter agnus and 1.3 kickstart version, and to make things even weirder, they launched tv commercials, I had never seen a commodore related tv commercial in my life, So have I bought the amiga 1 week before I would have regretted it forever!, according to what I remember the amiga came here around 900 to 1000 dollars but when I got the bonus pack it cost Me way cheaper, I think less than 700 dollars!
So I came very late to the amiga party when many of my c64 pals had already jumped ship, I am not sure but according to my memories T2 game came out shortly after I bought it so it should have been in 1991.

I recall when a friend of mine got the megadrive when it came out and it was the first time I ever saw video games at home and it was mind blowing that you can plug something like that in the TV. I think I got the Amiga around 92/93. I was quite young back then !
Itâs awesome that youâre doing these 3D models with such a passion for detail so we can all rejoice these old day like weâre time travelling !

Thank You Nerdy, Yeah I am working on some of the most time consuming parts but is cumbersome but funny too because I have to decide which will be the best approach to get the geometry and the results I want and at the same time trying to be more efficient, so I keep trying and learning. thanks friend!.

Yeah there is always more to learn and a infinite amount of ways to do things in blender, best wishes on your model I already know itâs going to be very well made.

That logo is looking really good! I know logos like that take time to get them right. Every time I try to model the prancing horse Ferrari logo, I failâŚ
I was reading the discussions between you and @sozap and I got to thinking⌠I have an Amiga 500 because my sister gave me hers. I just donât know where itâs at. I have an Amiga 1000 + extras (modem, memory expansion, hard disk, etc.) and I know where it is.
At the time, subLogicâs Flight Simulator was top notch software on those older computers. (MicroSoft bought subLogic and todayâs MSFS is the result.) On the Amiga, Flight Simulator could connect to another Amiga via the modem and you could fly planes together. Since we were both teenagers living at home, we couldnât connect with modems. Found a thing called a Null Modem Cable that acted like a modem between 2 computers. This allowed us to connect the 2 Amigas and fly ariplanes together⌠Before anyone knew what networking gaming wasâŚ

Wow! two amigas, I once played lotus turbo challenge 2 in a friends house, yeah linking two amigas was awesome! Thanks for sharing Randy.

Hi there friends! I am very happy as the more intricate topology is almost finished and in an acceptable topoology ( albeit it still needs to be cleaned), some fixes are in order and the logo will finally be merged.
