The logo and everything else is looking very nice, the shading is also very clean, great work!
Thank You very much nerdy, I am glad You liked it.
I could not match de photo but I think the amiga is going well, I will start to work on the keyboard now so I have a place holder to get an idea…
The logo is looking good added to the case.
So I’ve been interested in your lighting/renders and how you do it. How did you do that render, the one with the mirrored logo? Was it just a HDRI for the world, and a shadow catcher under the computer?
That’s what it looks like to me. I have a vintage computer project that I just can’t get a good basic render of and I like the look of your renders.
Of course, the only thing better than an Amiga is 2 Amigas… So disappointed that Commodore didn’t promote/manage/push this computer into the dominate computer of it’s time. ![]()
More nostalgia to come…
Randy
Hello Randy, In that case I used an hdri from hdri haven plus one ore two lamps to improve the visibility of the floppy drive area, in this case I used a simple low roughness plane below the amiga for shadows and reflections.
I have to tell I struggle a lot with lighting and I have tried many things, sometimes I use the hdri as backdrop, other times I model walls and windows and my own tables, etc..
Hi there! thank You very much for the nice words, I agree, the simple fact that connecting something to your TV was amazing, to travel in time I would remember the fIrst time I saw , Pong in a grocery store,PhoenIx at an arcade, ghosts and goblins, green beret, ghouls and ghost, shadow of the beast, sf2, Super mario 64, Shenmue, Ninja gaiden black, God of war 1.2 and 3, only the first Ghost of tsushima and, the greatest game I have played in ages Lies of P!.
I am leaving a lot of games out and I know not only games but creative software are part of our fondest memories but the list would be very looooong.
Actually here in the forgotten lands the amiga was quite succesfull!, I had a lot of friends, I met them trough a weekly second hand magazine were people sold used goods and it was a very good way to meet people and buy used stuff, some guys imported cd32s and sold them that way, the great variety of amiga users You could meet was unbelivable, People who lived in actual mansions , people who lived in very rich parts of the city that had video toasters and cdtvs to people who lived in a single room and a bathroom with no shower but had a 32" trnitron, a surround aiwa stereo connected to the c64 or amiga or even both sharing the room with the stove and bed, We all loved the AMIGA! ah those times!
But it was the amiga 1200 were people began to jump ship and went to the ibm clones of the time, some guys defend the amiga 1200 but to be honest if You look at it as a gaming machine like most people did, it was simply underwhelming, to put it simple, there is no aga port of street fighter 2 that can compete with the best console ports of the SNES or Genesis to this day, the dreaded cd32 only sealed commodore´s fate.Amiga story is a love story that went wrong and left many users with a bitter taste in the mouth. Sniff. It still hurts.
I am working on the keyboard, the keys mesh is almost finished but textures are just place holders for now.
Great work on both the modeling and texturing!![]()
Thank You very much buddy, it is still unfinished but I hope to finish it next week.
Hello mali!, Do You mean the return key is really close to the shift key?, yeah it will be fixed, and the blank keys is because there are several regional keybords, some have more keys than others, The US and uk ones have less keys so I am still deciding which one or ones I will present, Thank You for chiming in buddy!.
When I first saw that, I thought you were showing off a reference shot. Good job!
Thank You Renza!, I am working on the keyboard and it is very time consuming, I have modeled several keys but I stil have to perfect the silhouette of a couple and then the texturing and coloring process, I think I will have to forget about my a 2600 darth vader project i had planned…
Outstanding work, George.
Thank You very much buddy! it is always great to read You!.
This is looking great, I have been enjoying watching it get built!
Thank You very much nerdy!
