Hey Blenderers! This is a little scene I put together to try out the brushstroke tool that the Blender Studio released recently after Project Gold. Rendered in Eevee.
The models are all original. I especially had fun sculpting the two skulls. One is a human and the other is a rhesus macaque.
There are no traditional textures in this scene at all. It’s all brushstrokes created with the Blender Studio tool. All the brushstrokes are real geometry in the scene shrink-wrapped to the underlying objects. Because of this, even though it’s a simple scene, it’s over 6 million faces. It took a bit of getting used to working this way, but once I got the hang of it, it became quite fun! The tool is a combination of procedural generation controlled by a flow direction you create, and manual brushstrokes. The process actually feels quite similar to creating fur or hair.
You can only just see it in the scene, but I had a lot of fun creating this medicine bottle layout using a drawing I did recently of Frankenstein circa 1931.
