From the description on the article it sounds like they’re destroying DNA in order to use the carbon atoms in it… Doesn’t sound like they’re creating new life at all…
Impressive how far technology has come - that man can use carbon atoms from DNA. Ofcourse there is carbon in the trees, but perhaps another source of carbon atoms is DNA.
They’re using DNA 'cause it is already laid out in the shape of a strip (well, actually, it’s usually a sorta tangled spiral; but there are some processes that makes it uncurl into a straight shape)
