Animall tab missing in 3.6

Hi,

I was trying to add AnimAll add-on. Even though I have it selected in Preferences and apparently installed in /usr/share/blender/3.6/scripts/addons the tab 3D View > Toolbox > Animation doesn’t show up – I have saved preferences and even tried restarting Blender.

Any idea why that may be happening and/or how to solve it?

I’m running Blender 3.6.2 in Arch Linux 6.4.12-arch1-1

Hi,

This one?

Yes, this one. It doesn’t appear in my Blender 3D View as expected

Works fine in my case

Blender 3.6.2.

Perhaps you did something wrong? Also, don’t forget to save your settings after activing an add-on

Any idea what I could’ve done wrong? I only selected the checkbox in the add-on and saved preferences. Not sure were I could have gone wrong, it seems pretty straightforward.

do you have some kind of N-tab combinererer? one that would have moved the tab into another?

Not that I’m aware of. Is there any way I can check that?

Try to load your settings to factory ones and check if the problem appears again.

Workspace filtering of addons could be responsible for addon tab missing, although addon was activated.
Open and check Workspace panel.

hum… OK, I see where the problem is:

The tab doesn’t appear if I start Blender and select 2D Animation from the splash screen like this:

If I choose General or just skip, the tab appears.
It’s still there if I create a new 2D Animation workspace, as long as I have not selected 2D Animation in the splash screen.

I wonder what prevents it from showing up when I select 2D Animation, that’s mostly what I use Blender for.

Perhaps it is only supported in General workspace?

Check out the manual:
https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/3.6/addons/animation/animall.html?utm_source=blender-3.6.2

Same thing, btw, for 2.93

The addon’s purpose is to animate properties of a mesh, lattice, curve or a surface.
So, the tab is absent when active object is not from such types.

By default, active object in 2D Animation template is a Grease Pencil object, that is not supported by Animall addon.

Ah, that makes sense. It appears if I convert the Grease Pencil object to a path.

Thanks all for your fast replies and kind help!
