Is there a trick possible to loop through polygon island, and use that as an object list ?
make all the tutorials please! =d
@NNois: You can do the following, but I donât know if this is what you wantâŚ
Otherwise the answer is no at the momentâŚ

(or you write you own node

@tenkan: Great idea but this was not the question
I just cannot make all videos at onceâŚ
If you need some tutorial ideas, I still have no idea how to make a fading text (by letters, words or linesâŚ)
But to do that, someone probably need to create some missing nodes ? (though the list is getting really impressive now !)
thanks again, fantastic work ! your addon deserves to be delivered with the next Blender official release !
@midol: yeah, that is still a bit complicated unfortunaly, but it can work with the existing nodes. I will try this out
atm it is better that the addon doesnât ship with Blender because so it is much easier for everyone to download updates. (my opinion)
I vote for matice tutorial.
Hi Jacques, i have nothing to type, ⌠just âthanks god that youâve appeared on this planet :Dâ
@NTDai: Thanks a lot!
I will do the matrix tutorial now. I will try to make it as easy as possible and call it âMatrices for 3D-Artistsâ
Matrix⌠This recall me this doc by Todd Akita, the first time i completly understood math behind my tool. Donât miss this one as it applies to Animation nodes perfectly
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1K5Lo1-_y9Qcm9GNHdtWm1fUXc/view?usp=sharing
haha funny. I just found that myself 10 minutes ago
I try to do something more easy, because basicly you donât have to know the math to do complex things with matrices (although it might help a lot).
I will upload the video in a few minutes.
The link you shared is perfect for people which want to learn more about the mathematical details. Thanks for that!
Here is the video about matrices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWkK11PQG_Y
It does not explain what happens in the background or gives any mathematical information. The video is intended to be a starting point for someone who wants to work with matrices in this addon.
I hope it helps some persons and is understandable
I donât know how blender deal with local transform but another key knowledge info about transforms is knowing how to deal and change the local axis.
Multiply by a matrix to change the axe reference, doing all the stuff needed animate etc, then re-multiply by the same but inverted matrix, simple powerfull stuff, but hard to understand.
@NNois: Yeah, hard to understand⌠I know there are a lot of things missing what you can do but as you said, these things are more complex⌠For that there are lots of other tutorials out there
I think you can understand that I cannot explain all those things in such a video.
Great video, thank you. It is so much easier than creating lots of constraints etc.
Can I keyframe the values in the matrices? Or should can I only drive it with with frame number input?
Well you can keyframe the values, but the problem is that you donât see these keyframes in the graph editor oder dope sheetâŚ
so its better to control them with the frame or to create a controler object and use a properties from that to control your animation.
Thanks very much for this last matrix tutorial Jacques (and also this tip about using a control object instead of a simple keyframe ! Itâs a bit tedious at first but so much better in the end)
By the way, did you made your tutorials with blender too ? (because I tried to do simple videos like that and that is quite a challenge with the sequencer)⌠maybe you could do a tutorial about your tutorials !!?
@midol: thanks. Have some results you want to show us?
hm. no. I made the tutorials mostly in After EffectsâŚ
The VSE is only ok for this work if you use the Transform addon. It gives you scale position and rotate interaction in the VSE preview window. Combine that with masks and you will get a lot of basic function. The only issue then is a decent titling tool. A 3d scene would be fine but you canât use the OpenGL render of it as a final result, so it takes a while to render.
Just a fringe question but this addon just moves and creates 3d geometry, could it output a draw type to anywhere else? Like the frame counter overlay in the vse?
