Anna WIP

let’s see how this gonna come out at the end :slight_smile:

good luck.

She looks great! am really liking her hair, I just think her eyes needs a bit of tweaking they don’t have a feminine appearance (shape). Keep it up!

Here are the images. The first one is how you should model the lips instead of just modeling it by how it looks. The result if you followed this kind of modeling is more realistic than just following how the lips’ shape goes.

The second one is what I was trying to explain earlier.:spin: Since the whole mesh is subsurfaced, it’s pretty hard to hide the curves that composes the sides of the lips. They should be inside because the corner of the lips are supposed to be inside.

Thanks guys. Actually, I halted on her for a while. I’m not satisfied with the results I’m getting with the hairline. I want it to look something like the image I’ve attached. Her hair right now just makes her look like another semi-anime/realistic model. I’m also looking up on ways on how to achieve a realistic look on her eyes, like the watery stuff there because her eyes right now looks dull.

that’s blender for you, if you want a better result you should maybe start a paintover on the head and then use projection paint.

this is looking really good. A few things tho, the jawline is partially defined and I noticed the same with your Leila character. But if you go back to your thread, to the picture of the politician you can see how her jawline is defined all the way to the ear. Even tho much of the jawline is hidden behind hair, I would still model it.
Maybe the reference/tutorial can help ya with the nose? I didn’t check out the actual tutorial, but I thought the reference is pretty good.

Her eyes are looking a bit shocked, I would bring down the upper eyelid to cover some of the iris for a relaxed shape and spend a little more time on the crease of the eyelid to make them look more natural. If needed, I would search for references of eyes. The flow of that crease looks off even with this wide eyed pose of the eyes.

This image is the best damn CG image I’ve seen so far. The hair is just painted… with a mouse.

@DivineRain
I think I’ve seen this nose modeling before. I don’t think I’ll be able to re-model her nose from the ground up anymore because the textures are already done. I’m limited to tweaking vertices here and there only, unless I’ve decided to redesign everything from scratch. I’m still researching on stuff anyway so who knows what’ll happen to Anna. :eyebrowlift2:

Thanks for the explanation. And the texture of the lips is drawn?

Ciao :wink:

Edit: Perhaps you know this site?

@ernesto1
I didn’t know that site. Just read it and think it’s an awesome site. :yes: Thanks for the reference, it’s a valuable help. :slight_smile:

She looks beautiful with the hair :yes:
U just need to fix the eyelid and the nostrils then you’ll have an awesome character in your
hands!

By the way,love the multilayered SSS
Looks Great!!

Great model. I concur with what has been said before, the eyes are too big or too open, adjusting that would add a lot of believability.

Been working with the topology and I’ve re-worked the textures. Can’t wait to post my latest render update. :smiley:

Update:

I changed the topology of the model therefore forcing me to repaint all the textures. I’m using mirror reflections this time combined with specular highlights to simulate the sweat on the skin because the specular alone didn’t look that realistic. I know the skin shader doesn’t look that good for now, I’m working on it. I’m currently working on the multi-layered SSS nodes because I kind of messed it up.

Here’s another one:

Fixed the lighting here and the latest iteration of my version of multi-layered SSS. Can’t nail the one I had before.

Great improvements, her skin is coming along well. Still her eyes needs a bit more tweaking, I think the problem is that the skin does not wrap around the eyeball properly. I have posted a link of a close-up of what I mean.

Thanks for the image. I’ll work on that. It’s because I’ve re-modeled the edge loops around the eyes that’s why I’m kind of starting over here. Hope I get it right.

Updates:

Fixed the topology here. I thought the fold on the upper part of the eyes weren’t that prominent so I tweaked it.

http://i992.photobucket.com/albums/af41/ouro898/Anna/36_render_w_hair.png
Changed the hair color here…

http://i992.photobucket.com/albums/af41/ouro898/Anna/37_fixed_hair_color.png
…and changed it again. I’m thinking on making her a body, although I’m gonna have to repaint her textures more or less if I did that. And I’m gonna have to remodel her some polygon hair instead of these particle hair, which is hard to manage by the way.

She looks sad… :o
there is smth bugging me about her lower lip, dunno, probably because it looks thinner than the upper on maybe

good work anyway :wink:

…blah!

Hey, think you should start with eyes, check proportion of eyes and focus in finish em with real shapes, the eyes give expression to your character. that line above of eyes is far from them, and in your reference are more natural its due the brow area is overlapping upper eyelid and in your model theres no a good volume in brow area.

Once eyes and surrounding areas are good, all features can be fixed regarding the eyes.

@max evil
Haven’t started on the shape keys yet. I think what’s wrong with the lips is its diffuse texture. I’ve edited it earlier and I think I pushed it in a bit. It’s really a hassle working with the textures outside Blender, you’d have to import it back and forth. Blender should implement layers in it’s paint mode.

@megastor
I was trying to copy the fold on the upper part of the eyelids, something like this:
http://www.lidlift.com/images/examples/eyelid/eyelid3/Eyelid-example-3.jpg
All of us have that fold although some has it subtle. I guess I’m gonna have to pull that down coz the eyes are too big already then work with the eyebrows. Changed the eyebrows to a hair emitting plane so it won’t be that difficult to edit it. I guess that’s why she’s giving off that certain emotion I can’t make of. :smiley:
