Another white house

My latest project, a house with six apartments for a client in Hamburg. All rendered with Cycles and TT. Comments and critics welcome.

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

You’re on the featured row! :+1:

Well… Not much to critique here I guess. Really nice renders, and also the stuff on your website looks great!
But… what’s TT?? :man_shrugging:

I would guess Turbo Tools.

I see.
Not up to par with all these ‘Cycles enhancers’ tbh.

They don’t do much in my experience.

Thanks Bart :star_struck:

Thanks. Yes its indeed Turbo Tools. Its a better DeNoiser, you get more detail then with the standard denoiser.

So it’s better denoiser results within the alternative Cycles version, which in return result in lower render times for comparable results?
Is it really that much faster, or are the claims on BM a bit too much?
Just wondering…

I must admit i haven’t compared rendertimes from TT with the open image denoiser, but it could indeed be faster, especially with animations; I just use it for stills.

Always wonder how folks get their interior so clean and seemingly without noise. What tricks do you have and willing to share

It’s complicated because I’m not really fighting the noise, I’m fighting what the denoiser does with the noise. I often get blotches on white walls and/or white ceilings because the shading is very subtle between white and light grey. So I have to render with more samples to give the denoiser more information.

Otherwise it is a combination of your lighting, your materials and your render settings. You should always render a bit darker and avoid sharp and intense sunlight. The noise you see in my images isn’t from the rendering, it’s filmgrain added in post so the images don’t look too clean. Hth.

so realistic

GJ Erik!
I hope this helps - The only thing I would recommend is putting the house in the middle of the composition and giving it space “to breathe” to make the composition clearer. (I know I changed the ratio and the client may want a rectangle format, but you get the point)
You did a great job with this project!
I am looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks for your suggestions. Funny enough we had a similar camera position and format in discussion, my usual 5x4 format.

I like the one with warmer tones better, but even with this one I would show more of the sky, so the building does not look “squeezed” into the picture

Well, the client would say : “you don’t get paid for the sky, i want to see my house”
I like the square format, but the house looks now too centered, thats why i prefer the 5x4 format, you have more options to move the building around. But its always a good idea to change the format, and not only the camera position.

I think you can explain, but ofc I do understand. Clients are sometimes weird  My main point was that negative space is un-even and it might help, but a finished project is a finished project  GJ I am looking forward to seeing more!

Maybe, if you have nothing to do at the moment, your excellent tree library needs some beech trees, thats the main tree in our city. In variations like the nice maple trees. As you may have noticed, i already changed the leafs of your hedges to beech leaves.
