Anubis Shrine

This is a model I made of the Anubis Shrine from Tutankhamun’s tomb. I attempted to be as accurate as possible with the details around the base of the shrine. It’s still a work in progress as the materials are not quite where they should be.

The background was made with extremely low effort, I will make a better environment to properly showcase this model eventually. The above is rendered in cycles, the below is rendered in Eevee.

nicely done
how did you do the patterns

image UV ?

I think that the Cycles render is more dramatic, as such a scene should be, but you do need to have a little more light on Anubis herself. Enough to bring out the profiles of the figure, and maybe to inject a bit more drama. Can you rig the lights to “tell a story about” Anubis? Is something about to happen?

Of course, "the modeling and the setting is solid."

just one thing
how come the model seems to be so small compared to the floor’s tiles ?

what is the size of this model ?

It is a normal map texture that I custom made and the base is UV unwrapped.

The model is scaled close to real world scale 0.51 meters wide, 2.73 meters long (including poles sticking out), and 1.19 meters tall. The tiles/background you see in the second image are an HDRI world texture, which just makes it look improperly scaled (if you move the camera closer to the model it will appear larger, but the HDRI remains the same size in the background because it is infinatly far away… at least that’s my guess).

this is an inside scene so you should not really use and outside HDRI

may be just add a floor tiles with model over it
might look better in terms of scales of things around

have fun
