Wouldn’t the stone walls look better if the stones were wider than they are tall? That tends to be the case with castle walls. Or if the stones aren’t wider than tall, they would instead be more random than this, more like random boulders stacked together than even cubes.
You inspired me to try making a castle wall material myself. I was curious just how far I could go using only a material.

This might be a bit heavy compared with what you are doing though. My version looks its best with a good amount of subdivision on the model.
