Any strategies for good-looking, non-repeating ground materials?

I’d like to model some larger landscapes (several hundred to a thousand feet, maybe) and haven’t tried to use or create any ground textures for a landscape this large before.

Can anyone recommend any methods for creating something without obvious repeating? I can scatter plants, stones, etc. after - I’m mostly looking for ways of generating the ground material itself.

Thanks

QuadSpinner Gaea has a free edition that is absolutely incredible for this. Highly recommend it

You could look up the “untiling node” and see if it fits your needs.

It’s a free product that’s built for this very purpose.

Thanks - I looked through their site, but don’t see anything relating to ground materials. Could you post a link?
