The only way I’m able to get Ambient occlusion is to add an AO node to each material in the scene. Just turning AO on in the render tab apparently isn’t enough, but manually adding an AO node to each material seems like a really bad workflow. Is there a better way to enable AO?
What are you trying to do with the AO that the one in the world panel is insufficient for? Remember that AO is AMBIENT occlusion, it’s not supposed to be applied to direct lighting.
There is no AO in the world panel. Not in Eevee at least. I’m trying to create soft shadows where objects are in close proximity with each other, so basically just the regular function of AO.
