Hi everyone. I started working on this with the goals of making the most realistic scene I possibly can, and manage to get some emotion in. I don’t care how long this takes me, as long as I can finish it. This is what I have so far:
its too clean, you should alternate with other textures. you can even see the tiling going on.
Also it will look better if you give the window some textures
I think I could paint a grunge texture on the window. I’ll try a different texture, or maybe try to fix this one.
Maybe Andrew Price’s last tutorial on realistic textures will help ?
I assume you don’t like the brick material?

Couldn’t help but notice a few problems with the brick bonding.
If it is to look as realistic as possible then the small pieces of brick up against the window frame should not be there. There should be a half brick against the frame then a whole brick above that, then a half brick then a whole brick and so on all the way up the side of the frame. This should be the same on both sides of the frame.
On the top of the frame the base of the bricks would not be visible as a lintel, used to support the bricks above the frame, would hide them from view. Maybe using a scaled out plane and a metal shader would do the trick for the lintel.
The bricks look a little out of shape to me. The standard size of brick that we use here in the UK is 65mm high 100mm wide and 215mm long, so the length of the brick should be roughly just over three times more than the height.

I see what you mean with the bricks, I’ll fix that. I changed the angle of the camera so the bricks at the top part aren’t visible, so I don’t think the lintel will be necessary. It seems that bricks in the United States are slightly different. I’m pretty sure these are to scale, but I’ll have to check again. Thanks for the tips.
