Appending Parent and Child Objects

When appending via a script (Library) is it possible to bring in parent/child relationships as well? Currently I have a scene with a parent mesh object with two lamps attached as children. When my script appends these objects there is no longer a parent/child relationship.

Any ideas?


I am new and not in a position to properly reply to your post but, i do know i have had the problem with appending all the object in a parent-child relationship, i then discovered that (it may import all) you can append the “Scene” in the “scenes” folder in a .blend file and it will import all the objects along with their parent-child relationships. if something imports that you dont want you can just delete it! tell me how this goes buddy!
