Apply Size and Rotation

Im going through Greybeards dupliframe tut again and Im just curious…what is happening when Ctrl+A is pressed?

Is the the program taking setting any previous sizing and rotations back to 0?

What it does is set whatever object’s axis to the world axis. Like if you add an object in front view, it’s z axis will be pointing towards you, even though the z axis of the world is pointing up and this sets it right.
