Is it possible to apply subdiv modifier to selected polys? Its a single mesh object but I want the other parts of it to be in sudd.
Looks like its not possible in blender.
Either split your object or subdivide everything !
you can try using crease edges to disable subdivision in certian parts
Yes that’s exactly what I had to do. Split meshes then just parented them. Is there grouping in blender?
Parenting is grouping, if that’s what you mean. There is also “joining”, which is a destructive operation and would just lead you back to step one (ie a single object), and there is yet another form of grouping with collections, but that’s just for managing visibility/renderability. I think you did the best thing by parenting your objects.
