Little exploration of arctic environment and lighting.

Wow…really nice.
I haven’t yet the opportunity to visit Artic places…but I can feel the low temperatures and how hard is the life (for humans) overthere…
I really like what you did.
A minor thing I’ve seen is that (too) smooth transition from the rock to snow in the first image…but it’s really a minor minor thing.
Haha… I really love the peaceful, yet unpredictably cruel aesthetic created by the Arctic. Never visited myself, but just read the HP Lovercrafts “At the mountains of madness” and it described nicely the harsh and unforgiving environment of antarctica. A bit like the silent horror that you get from space films.
Thank you very much for the feedback, you are absolutely correct. There is a blend material there and the transition could most certainly be a bit more pronounced.
Looks great! ![]()
I would try to put some object into the scene that makes the scale more clear. It took me a while to understand the size of the building when comparing it to the relings and the stairs. A familiar object like a person or a truck could make this more clear.
Really nice scene and I agree that it transports the feeling of coldness very nicely.
Well thank you very much. A clear size reference would certainly clarify the scale of the scene. Thanks for the feedback, very legit point.
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
You’re on the featured row! ![]()
Can we negotiate quick?
Slow down with the amazing work, so the others can catch up please.
hehe. 10/10
Great environment work! I went quickly to your Artstation with the hope to find an animated short, any plans for it?
Looking great!
Haha… thank you very much ![]()
Glad you like it. Nice short would most definitely be lovely, but this is just a one piece from series of environment studies that i have done lately so i’m trying to keep these as light as possible. But who knows… maybe i end up doing one bit later ![]()
Thank you ![]()
