I’ll be finished with this model in the next couple of days and will post it to the model repository. I hope it will be useful to someone in one of their works. This baby is a belt-fed upper receiver for the AR15/M-16 Modular weapons systems. It uses the Fabrique National Squad Automatic Waepon ammo box and disentigrating ammo links.
Nice model! The ammo box is not too big?
Cool!!Real rambo toy! hehe
I thought I would have this thing finished in a couple of days but the upper and lower receivers have been driving me nuts. I start orientation for a new job in the morning so I won’t be able to finish it for a while. But, it is far enought along that I’m going to post it to the model repository. Sorry for the inaccuracies but the photos that I have and my current skill level just wont let me get the job done the way that I’d like to, especially since the bolt carrier group can be seen from outside the weapon. I tried to model that part but had to give it up in favor of artistic license.

This might noty have annything to do with it… but seriously a 200 round beltdrive system on a m16… Feels kinda useles since the weapon would jam after fireing 50 rounds in a row
Try using AO, It’s located in the world tab. It would make the render much more realistic…
And you should also work on the materials, not just the color is important, reflectivity is, diffuse, specular etc.
MorMor,
I haven’t read anything but rave reviews on this baby. I didn’t invent it, I’m just a huge fan. The only critical views that I have seen expressed have come from the company itself. This puppy is ultra reliable and will feed a hanging belt of 300 rounds without a hic-cup.
300 rounds plus the disentegrating links is a LOT of weight to pull! It is designed to replace the Fabrique Nationalle Squad Automatic Weapon in certain scenarios such as deployment with a squad of Navy SEALs, British SAS, etc… I believe it weighs about 11 pounds less than the SAW and it fires from a closed bolt position so you can actually lay down a precision line of fire rather than just an unrully spray. You can see it here:

BTW, controlled bursts is the name of the game. The only reason I know of to hang on to the trigger is because you’re in imminent danger of being over run.
