i’m kinda new, ive had blender for a few weeks, done some tutorials
and other stuff but have a problem i cant find an answer to :-? :
HOW DO YOU USE ARMATURES IN THE GAME ENGINE?!?!
ive searchd and ive found stuff about actions and IPO’s (btw, IPO stands
for interpolation right?) and i cant figure out how to use keyboard
sensors.
Also, what i’ve been trying to make is a game where a rabbit is hopping
along and you have to shoot it-gonna use vertex colorin-and if you miss,
it pulls out a gun and starts shooting you. Is this possible with just logic
blocks/bricks whatever? I thought maybe a “near” sensor would work.
Hi cool im sort of new as certain things in blender aswell and im only 15,
To use Armatures in the GE yes u need to use IPOs and you should look up some tuts on IPOs. Keyboard sensors are really easy first u need a dynamic actor then u need to make a keyboard sensor then an AND controller then a actutor (or somthing) use a motion one just now then join them all up, make a motion then enter a key to use for the keyboard sensor then start the game and press the button u set and that basically how u use keyboard sensors.
P.S–I have a team of people to work on a game together as i am leaving in a couple of months to become a Royal Marine full time after i finish my exams!!
and i noticed u wanted ppl to help u just get some screenshots and then go aroung inviting people to join then make a thread and that should work…
That’s the only one that has enough information about armatures, etc, that I know about. You’ll just have to go through the tutorial section and see if you can find something if you can’t download.
Say, OTO, I realize you’ve made a huge help to the BGE community with the tutorial, and most of it is completely relevant, but have you checked the way you set up the armature in this latest version of Blender? When I use the armature as actor/dynamic it just bounces unless I set the damp up to about .999. The solution I use is to parent to a box and make the box an actor, not even making it dynamic if I can help it. I just took a quick look and maybe I missed something, but it could be confusing to a beginner. Apology in advance if I’m wrong about that. That’s why I recommended snailrose, because he parents to an invisible cube and turns off the collison faces of the model.
thanks for care!
You’re probably right, those tuts are quite old.
The bouncing problem is an old one, the old solution was
to just add a material to the meshes?!
Does’nt work anymore?
Anyway I’ll try to check/update the tutorial
Bye
