This is advanced stuff for someone new to animation, especially if someone is paying you to do animation for them. Following a specific tutorial for a commercial project will get you in big expensive trouble, you instead want to look at general tutorials and apply those principles to your work. As an intermediate or advanced user, this would be easy for you to do, but as a self described beginner… you may be out of your depth here
I concur with what joseph said, if you cannot do the task that was assigned to you by the client don’t take the job, or tell the client you cant work on this part due to technical difficulties…
Number 1 is a frequently used configuration.

Number 2 may be a little difficult to express on the blender, but I think you can configure it according to the blender. (This is also a popular configuration.)
