Asphalt

Diving into « Asphalt »

CGI experiment with pure muscles. This project was built around the idea of a zoetrope, but with a modern twist. Instead of traditional animation, the entire sequence lives within a single 3D model.

Each frame is precisely placed along the carousel’s rotation, creating a fluid a looping animation. (yes I had a fun time adding little variations ton each model in order to recreate realistic randomness )

The real magic happened when Liam PHAN
(https://www.youtube.com/@liamphanmusic) stepped in with his audio composition and spatial sound design. His work didn’t just complement the visuals, it transformed the entire scene into an immersive experience, where every movement and sound feels intentional and alive.

At the heart of it all is the ‪IWC Schaffhausen (https://www.youtube.com/@iwcwatches) Ingenieur Automatic 40 from formula1 movie, a watch that inspired the precision and craftsmanship behind this project. Created in Blender, rendered in Cycles, and graded in Adobe AfterEffects. What do you think of the fusion of sound and motion here? Let me know in the comments !

Nice!

Just wondering, how did the IWC become so washed out in that final render and to some extent in the one above too …

A simplified version of the TurnTable is available here, if some of you are interested in.
I had to remesh and decimate everything to get the file under the 2 Go.

really nice!
I like the idea and the video editing, but I’ve to say that everything is really well done!

One question: How did you do the pist stop animations and the f1 driver animation seen from the halo?

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Mindblowing! Another piece of art. :clap:t2::clap:t2:
