I make my textures in Substance Painter and Photoshop, and I’m wondering if there’s a way or a plugin make Blender automatically update a loaded texture when it’s been changed or when I switch back to the program, similar to how the Marmoset Toolbag automatically checks for texture updates. Any idea’s or options for this?
it is actually supposed to update automatically as well. I have notice that it does not always update the small preview window immediately and if you are viewing your scene already rendered, you have to drop back into Object mode then back to render to see the updated texture but as long as the texture is still named the same as it was, it should update without having to manually re-link the texture. At least it does for me.
I was able to get the texture to auto-reload when I switched rendering modes from Eevee to cycles, and when I re-opened the file. But nothing else seems to be getting it to check whether the texture has been updated
