Autorig Pro, Stretched mesh

Hi, I needed to rig a character and add Mixamo animations to it. I know nothing about rigging and therefore bought Autorig Pro, I followed instructions and rigged the character, but when I move a limb, the whole mesh stretches, please see attached pic. Does this have something to do with Vertex painting, anyone know how I can fix this?

I also tried exporting the original character and uploading to Mixamo, but was unable to map my existing skeleton, maybe because my character is not in a T pose, I dunno. Any help would be great ,thanks.
