Is there a way to use Blender without having to use nodes and noodles?
It seems that even simple tasks are hard to do, and the explanations of nodes in the user manual do not really say much about how any chain of connected nodes can create an effect.
Sure. Just don’t use them then. You can do modelling and you can create materials in the properties editor:
You can do rigging, some animation, lot’s of other stuff as well.
It’s just that you will not be able to do all the things that need nodes. It’s kind of the same as using a car without being able to drive - you can still get in, it’s warmer inside, you can probably listen to the radio, it has a light if it’s dark, you just cannot go anywhere.
You can easily avoid geometry nodes, plenty of projects never need them. Personally I am a huge fan of geo nodes, so actively find ways to use them in my projects, and to speed up my workflow.
Shader nodes are harder to avoid, as lots of complex materials need them. But basic shading can still be done in the materials panel.
