So I encountered some weird problems and restarted the hair on my character with a simple setup (50 guides and 100 children) and combed everything down. It baked fine for the animation of 115 frames.
Then I did the same, but increased the segments on the original emitter to 20 and combed much better to a good style. No lengthening or cutting, just adding a few guides manually.
The hair explodes to infinity at frame 2-3 and disappears leaving only the scalp mesh that is the emitter object.
What causes such behaviour?
In the message box within the Hair Dynamics there is often a warning saying “No convergence” but I can’t find any info on that.
