I featured you on BlenderNation, enjoy
Thank you!
It seems to be the first time for me to be featured, this is important for me =)
Just a small crit. The light is to uniformed and it makes the room evenly lit but there is just one light source from the window.
No, i didn’t use your patch
I looked at the video again, you use AO bounces/simplify? http://developer.blender.org/rB659ba012 https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/2.80/Cycles
Yep, that’s correct. But with this method i couldn’t get a correct glass because the bounces set to minimum possible, so i faked it. But yours somehow has inner refractions.
Really well done, I mean really good. It shows that you have great modeling skills.
Hooraay!))
Such a nice day, tank you^^
Congratulations, I appreciate both your modelling and human (helping Open Source development) skills
Yes, the lighting was made so that it simultaneously looked like a room with a light source in the form of windows with half-closed curtains (dark and contrasting), and with such a level of contrast that random shot looked very similar from any point.
A lot of things was sacrificed for video, I spend almost half of time and about 10 full renders to make video’s ligting looking nice, already having excellent static light setup in a half of way)
my jaw was dropped the entire time i watched this video! blender can astonishingly do a lot, and the talent and diligence skilled experts have to craft these masterpieces is a feat i cant even fathom to start thinking of
i cant wait to see what you will do next to jaw-drop me for five minutes straight!
Aww, thanks a lot for this)
Actually, the next one iI prepare s Architectural Debris sequel, massive collection of statuettes and shapes in minimalist style for realtime interior visualization.
You can check up similar theme - triply periodic minimal surfaces, I find them awesome, and they inspire me)
wow, they do look awesome! thats a whole lot to choose from!
wow, amazing! can you tell more about the lighting?
Well done. looking very good especially for eevee.
I am curious that did you ever use reflection cubemaps/planes or was screen space reflection enough ? I am still having problems while using probes:/
Cheers.
Well, reflections in eevee is the thing you will challenge a lot.
Especially for video, where every gold reflection were faked to avoid flickering.
Cubemaps are used as cubic for whole scene and planar for mirror to make it reflect more accurately.
Hopes, probes will be enhanced later.
Ok.
No sun or HDRI, two cone lights in window for shadows, two planes with offset to light the room.
One plane on floor to simulate light bounce.
You can see sun shadow bug on video
1:36 - they are
1:38 - they disappear because of soft light on, and don’t comes back when soft light off.
Scene needs to be restarted to reveal them back. Kinda issue.
Great scene !
I have been watching your videos on you tube and I’m really impressed with how you work, and the results you show are amazing.
I am new to blender, I currently model with 3d scan data using geomagic and Solidworks. My problem is creating objects like you have here. Would you be able to share a video run in real-time not speeded up. So a newbie like me can actually understand working in blender on a real project. Like the round embossed model.
Your help would be greatly received.
